Skylight Motorized FlexShade provides reliable motorized solar control for commercial spaces with overhead skylights. It reduces heat gain, glare, and UV exposure to help protect people, equipment, and furnishings while improving visual comfort. The system can be installed at virtually any angle, provided the rollers remain level and parallel. Smooth motorized operation, durable construction, and a clean architectural appearance make it a practical solution for commercial skylight applications.
 

Product Specs

  • Sizes available up to 6' w x 8' h (1829 mm x 2438 mm), depending on fabric selection.
  • Maximum unsupported width of 36″ (914 mm). Wider units require vinyl-clad aircraft support cables.
  • Units wider than 36" (914 mm) require vinyl-clad aircraft support cables.
  • Includes aluminum headbox for recess or surface mounting with side and sill channels.
  • Continuous cable system provides consistent fabric tension.
  • Install at virtually any angle, provided rollers are level and parallel.
  • Side flanges help prevent direct light leaks.
  • Hardware finishes include clear anodized (standard), black, white, ivory, or bronze. Custom powder coat colors available.
  • Available with Standard AC, RTS (Radio Technology Somfy) AC, 485 AC, or IntelliFlex I/O AC controls.
  • Choose from a wide range of fabric colors, textures, and opacities — or customize with graphics, patterns, or color matching.
  • Designed for interior use.

ANSI/WCMA A100.1-2022 Child Safety Standard

Effective June 1, 2024, in compliance with the updated ANSI/WCMA A100.1-2022 child safety standard, all Draper window shades operated by a bead chain will be furnished with a tensioned hold-down device that is permanently attached and partially disables the product if not installed correctly. This hold-down should be installed with tension on the chain.

All bead chain operated window shades will include:

  • Permanently installed spring-loaded tensioned hold-down device
  • Approved permanent warning label attached
  • Approved mechanical fasteners for the tension device included. Screws provided are not suitable for all mounting surfaces. The installer is responsible for secure mounting using appropriate hardware for the site conditions. Consult with contractors and builders as needed.

If the tension device is not installed with appropriate tension on the bead chain, the shade will be rendered partially inoperable. If installed properly, the tension device will prevent the creation of a hazardous loop and will maintain tension on the bead chain.
