Topspin

Topspin delivers a lightweight retractable shading system for large, glazed areas with smooth operation and clean, cable free design.

Topspin is a lightweight retractable shading system designed for large areas of glazing in commercial environments. Its series of smooth operating fabric panels deploy without visible cables, creating a clean architectural appearance for interior or exterior applications. The system provides effective solar control while preserving outward visibility and delivering more comfortable, controlled interior lighting. Spring-roller support every 3' to 5' (91–152 cm) ensures stable panel operation, and mounting brackets offset the system from the structure to simplify installation. With flexible configuration options and two headbox styles, Topspin adapts easily to a wide range of project requirements.
 

Product Specs

  • System widths available up to 10’ 4” (315 cm); systems can be coupled.
  • System lengths available up to 42’ 6” (1,300 cm) and may extend further depending on the application.
  • Available in four hardware colors: RAL 7016, 9001, 9010, and 9006. Custom colors available for an additional charge.
  • Radius can be as tight as 3' (91 cm) for curved glazing.
  • Fabric panels installed onto spring loaded roller tubes at regular intervals for fabric support.
  • Stack may be placed outside the window area on the roof.
  • Exterior rated mesh fabrics utilized.
  • System can withstand wind speeds up to 38 mph (61 kph).
  • Well-engineered architectural appearance compared to competitive systems.
  • Product designed for exterior or interior use.

ANSI/WCMA A100.1-2022 Child Safety Standard

Effective June 1, 2024, in compliance with the updated ANSI/WCMA A100.1-2022 child safety standard, all Draper window shades operated by a bead chain will be furnished with a tensioned hold-down device that is permanently attached and partially disables the product if not installed correctly. This hold-down should be installed with tension on the chain.

All bead chain operated window shades will include:

  • Permanently installed spring-loaded tensioned hold-down device
  • Approved permanent warning label attached
  • Approved mechanical fasteners for the tension device included. Screws provided are not suitable for all mounting surfaces. The installer is responsible for secure mounting using appropriate hardware for the site conditions. Consult with contractors and builders as needed.

If the tension device is not installed with appropriate tension on the bead chain, the shade will be rendered partially inoperable. If installed properly, the tension device will prevent the creation of a hazardous loop and will maintain tension on the bead chain.
