Skylight 2 FlexShade delivers automated solar control for very large skylights, reducing heat gain, glare, and UV exposure in commercial spaces.

Skylight 2 FlexShade provides dependable motorized solar control for very large skylight applications in commercial spaces. It reduces heat gain, glare, and UV exposure from overhead sunlight, helping protect occupants and furnishings while improving comfort in work environments. Designed for expansive glazing, the system offers durable components, smooth operation, and an architectural appearance suited to large scale projects.
 

Product Specs

  • Sizes available up to 13′ wide × 20′ high (396 × 610 cm), depending on fabric selection.
  • Light gap of 2-⅞″ (73 mm) on three sides; gap varies with fabric bundle diameter on roller end.
  • Draw cable and guide cable brackets provided with built in pulley assemblies.
  • Nylon coated cables provide low stretch and high fatigue resistance.
  • Guide cables measure 3⁄16″ (5 mm); draw cables measure 1⁄16″ (2 mm).
  • Horizontal spring steel stays support the fabric against air pressure and gravity.
  • Adapter bracket available in white powder coat finish.
  • Endcaps measure 5-13/16″ × 5-13⁄16″ (148 × 148 mm).
  • Spline attached fabric for reliable hold.
  • Available with Standard AC or RTS (Radio Technology Somfy) AC controls.
  • Product designed for interior use.

ANSI/WCMA A100.1-2022 Child Safety Standard

Effective June 1, 2024, in compliance with the updated ANSI/WCMA A100.1-2022 child safety standard, all Draper window shades operated by a bead chain will be furnished with a tensioned hold-down device that is permanently attached and partially disables the product if not installed correctly. This hold-down should be installed with tension on the chain.

All bead chain operated window shades will include:

  • Permanently installed spring-loaded tensioned hold-down device
  • Approved permanent warning label attached
  • Approved mechanical fasteners for the tension device included. Screws provided are not suitable for all mounting surfaces. The installer is responsible for secure mounting using appropriate hardware for the site conditions. Consult with contractors and builders as needed.

If the tension device is not installed with appropriate tension on the bead chain, the shade will be rendered partially inoperable. If installed properly, the tension device will prevent the creation of a hazardous loop and will maintain tension on the bead chain.
