Exterior Crank-Operated FlexShade

Exterior Crank-Operated FlexShade provides secure manual control with a detachable crank handle for precise shade positioning.

The Exterior Crank-Operated FlexShade window shade provides smooth, precise manual control to raise or lower shades to the exact desired height. Its removable crank handle helps limit unauthorized operation for added security. Shades mount directly over exterior windows with a choice of Side channels or side cables to help stabilize the shade in outdoor conditions. A weighted hem bar helps maintain panel alignment during operation. As an exterior shading solution, it reflects solar heat before it reaches the window, helping reduce heat gain and increase comfort in commercial environments such as restaurants or office spaces.
 

Product Specs

  • CHILD SAFETY NOTICE: This product complies with ANSI/WCMA A100.1-2022-Child Safety Standard.
  • Available in sizes up to 11' x 11' (3353 mm x 3353 mm), depending on fabric selection.
  • Detachable white crank handle available in 48" (1219 mm), 60" (1524 mm) standard, or 72" (1829 mm) lengths.
  • Square headbox dims: 3-5/8" w x 3-5/8" h (92 mm x 92 mm).
  • Hardware features powder coat finishes with a lightly textured surface in black, ivory, bronze, white, sand, and slate. Custom powder coat colors are also available.
  • Side channels or side cables required to stabilize the shade in standard outdoor conditions. These systems secure the hem bar, not the fabric.
  • Weighted hem bar maintains panel alignment during operation.
  • Porch or patio shades should be retracted in windy conditions.
  • In coastal applications near salt water, some deterioration of the operator and bracket components may occur.
  • Choose from a wide range of fabric colors, textures, and opacities — or customize with graphics, patterns, or color matching.

ANSI/WCMA A100.1-2022 Child Safety Standard

Effective June 1, 2024, in compliance with the updated ANSI/WCMA A100.1-2022 child safety standard, all Draper window shades operated by a bead chain will be furnished with a tensioned hold-down device that is permanently attached and partially disables the product if not installed correctly. This hold-down should be installed with tension on the chain.

All bead chain operated window shades will include:

  • Permanently installed spring-loaded tensioned hold-down device
  • Approved permanent warning label attached
  • Approved mechanical fasteners for the tension device included. Screws provided are not suitable for all mounting surfaces. The installer is responsible for secure mounting using appropriate hardware for the site conditions. Consult with contractors and builders as needed.

If the tension device is not installed with appropriate tension on the bead chain, the shade will be rendered partially inoperable. If installed properly, the tension device will prevent the creation of a hazardous loop and will maintain tension on the bead chain.
