Exterior Motorized FlexShade

Exterior Motorized FlexShade delivers quiet, remote-controlled solar shading for exterior windows using cable guides or side channels.

The Exterior Motorized FlexShade provides convenient, quiet solar control for exterior windows using a standard RTS motor that allows smooth remote-controlled operation. Shades can be raised or lowered quickly to filter harsh sunlight and reduce heat before it reaches the window, improving comfort in commercial environments. The system mounts directly over exterior windows and can be equipped with side channels or cable guides to help keep the hem bar steady during operation. A weighted hem bar stabilizes the shade, with cable guides securing the hem bar to help maintain panel alignment in outdoor conditions.
 

Product Specs

  • CHILD SAFETY NOTICE: This product complies with ANSI/WCMA A100.1-2022-Child Safety Standard and has been Certified Best for Kids™ by the Window Covering Safety Council.
  • Available in sizes up to 11’ x 11’ (335 cm x 335 cm) depending on fabric selection.
  • Available with square or curved headbox.
  • Square headbox size is 3-5/8” w x 3-5/8” h (92 mm x 92 mm).
  • Curved headbox size is 3-5/8” w x 3-5/8” h (92 mm x 92 mm).
  • Hardware features powder coat finishes with a lightly textured surface in black, ivory, bronze, white, sand, and slate. Custom powder coat colors are also available.
  • Side channels or cable guides available for secure operation in wind (secures hem bar only, not fabric).
  • Weighted hem bar to stabilize shade during operation.
  • Porch or patio shades should be retracted in windy conditions.
  • In coastal applications near salt water, some deterioration of the operator and bracket components may occur.
  • Standard RTS motor; see motor control options for additional configurations.
  • Choose from a wide range of fabric colors, textures, and opacities — or customize with graphics, patterns, or color matching.
  • UL Listed.

ANSI/WCMA A100.1-2022 Child Safety Standard

Effective June 1, 2024, in compliance with the updated ANSI/WCMA A100.1-2022 child safety standard, all Draper window shades operated by a bead chain will be furnished with a tensioned hold-down device that is permanently attached and partially disables the product if not installed correctly. This hold-down should be installed with tension on the chain.

All bead chain operated window shades will include:

  • Permanently installed spring-loaded tensioned hold-down device
  • Approved permanent warning label attached
  • Approved mechanical fasteners for the tension device included. Screws provided are not suitable for all mounting surfaces. The installer is responsible for secure mounting using appropriate hardware for the site conditions. Consult with contractors and builders as needed.

If the tension device is not installed with appropriate tension on the bead chain, the shade will be rendered partially inoperable. If installed properly, the tension device will prevent the creation of a hazardous loop and will maintain tension on the bead chain.
