Crank-Operated FlexShade

Crank-Operated FlexShade provides precise manual control with a secure crank handle that can be mounted or detached to limit access.

Crank-Operated FlexShade delivers precise, dependable manual shade control using a single crank mechanism that raises or lowers the shade to an exact position. Designed for environments where access must be managed, the crank handle can be permanently mounted or removed as needed. This makes it well suited for educational, healthcare, government, and other institutional spaces that require reliable operation with controlled access.
 

Product Specs

  • CHILD SAFETY NOTICE: This product complies with ANSI/WCMA A100.1-2022-Child Safety Standard.
  • Maximum shade width up to 12' (366 cm), depending on fabric selection.
  • Optional, heavy‑duty crank available up to 10′ (305 cm). Two‑piece handle available for greater lengths.
  • Crank handle can be permanently mounted (standard) or detachable to limit access.
  • Wall mounting brackets with endcaps included.
  • Available in small or large hardware options.
  • Hardware finish choices: clear anodized (standard), black, white, ivory, or bronze. Custom powder coat colors available.
  • Choose from a wide range of fabric colors, textures, and opacities — or customize with graphics, patterns, or color matching.
  • Product designed for interior use.

ANSI/WCMA A100.1-2022 Child Safety Standard

Effective June 1, 2024, in compliance with the updated ANSI/WCMA A100.1-2022 child safety standard, all Draper window shades operated by a bead chain will be furnished with a tensioned hold-down device that is permanently attached and partially disables the product if not installed correctly. This hold-down should be installed with tension on the chain.

All bead chain operated window shades will include:

  • Permanently installed spring-loaded tensioned hold-down device
  • Approved permanent warning label attached
  • Approved mechanical fasteners for the tension device included. Screws provided are not suitable for all mounting surfaces. The installer is responsible for secure mounting using appropriate hardware for the site conditions. Consult with contractors and builders as needed.

If the tension device is not installed with appropriate tension on the bead chain, the shade will be rendered partially inoperable. If installed properly, the tension device will prevent the creation of a hazardous loop and will maintain tension on the bead chain.
