Free Hanging Shade Panel

Free Hanging Shade Panel delivers stationary coverage for challenging openings, coordinating with existing shades or displaying custom graphic panels.

When an operational shade is not possible or a graphic shade is preferred, the Free Hanging Shade Panel offers a practical solution. This stationary panel makes it easy to match existing shades or provide coverage in challenging areas. It also allows a graphically printed panel to be changed seasonally. The Free Hanging Shade Panel features a non-operational panel with a hem bar at the bottom. Fabric attaches via a spline to a metal channel, allowing panels to be changed without removing mounting hardware. Panels can be wall- or ceiling- mounted.

  • CHILD SAFETY NOTICE: This product complies with ANSI/WCMA A100.1-2022-Child Safety Standard.
  • Mounting channel dimensions are 1" h x 13/16" d (26 mm x 21 mm).

ANSI/WCMA A100.1-2022 Child Safety Standard

Effective June 1, 2024, in compliance with the updated ANSI/WCMA A100.1-2022 child safety standard, all Draper window shades operated by a bead chain will be furnished with a tensioned hold-down device that is permanently attached and partially disables the product if not installed correctly. This hold-down should be installed with tension on the chain.

All bead chain operated window shades will include:

  • Permanently installed spring-loaded tensioned hold-down device
  • Approved permanent warning label attached
  • Approved mechanical fasteners for the tension device included. Screws provided are not suitable for all mounting surfaces. The installer is responsible for secure mounting using appropriate hardware for the site conditions. Consult with contractors and builders as needed.

If the tension device is not installed with appropriate tension on the bead chain, the shade will be rendered partially inoperable. If installed properly, the tension device will prevent the creation of a hazardous loop and will maintain tension on the bead chain.
