Lithium Battery Wand

Lithium Battery Wand provides rechargeable power for Somfy wirefree battery operated motors to eliminate standard battery replacement.

The Lithium Battery Wand provides a rechargeable power source for Somfy wirefree external battery-operated motors. It eliminates the need for standard battery replacement, offering a more cost-effective and low-maintenance solution. Designed for use in both new and existing installations, the compact battery pack supports mounting on the wall, ceiling, or headrail and fits within smaller window openings. Shades remain operable while charging to support continuous performance.

  • Protection against polarity reversal: yes.
  • Battery type: rechargeable lithium‑ion.
  • Protection rating: IP20, indoor use only.
  • Operating temperature range: 32°F to 140°F (0°C to 60°C).
  • Compatible with new and existing wirefree external battery-operated motor installations.

ANSI/WCMA A100.1-2022 Child Safety Standard

Effective June 1, 2024, in compliance with the updated ANSI/WCMA A100.1-2022 child safety standard, all Draper window shades operated by a bead chain will be furnished with a tensioned hold-down device that is permanently attached and partially disables the product if not installed correctly. This hold-down should be installed with tension on the chain.

All bead chain operated window shades will include:

  • Permanently installed spring-loaded tensioned hold-down device
  • Approved permanent warning label attached
  • Approved mechanical fasteners for the tension device included. Screws provided are not suitable for all mounting surfaces. The installer is responsible for secure mounting using appropriate hardware for the site conditions. Consult with contractors and builders as needed.

If the tension device is not installed with appropriate tension on the bead chain, the shade will be rendered partially inoperable. If installed properly, the tension device will prevent the creation of a hazardous loop and will maintain tension on the bead chain.
