Clutch-Operated FlexShade NEXD offers bead chain control, adjustable leveling, and flexible mounting for long term manual performance.

Clutch-Operated FlexShade NEXD provides a durable, manual shading solution designed for reliable light control without automation. Operated by a bead chain clutch, it includes a height-adjustable idler endcap that allows precise leveling after installation. Multiple surface-mounted and recessed installation options support a wide range of architectural conditions. With its maintenance-free clutch design, heavy-duty components, and fine adjustment capability, Clutch-Operated FlexShade NEXD serves commercial, healthcare, institutional, and educational environments where performance and longevity are essential.
 

Product Specs

  • CHILD SAFETY NOTICE: To comply with ANSI/WCMA A100.1-2022, this product ships with a Draper-designed Tensioned Hold-Down Device attached to the bead chain. Incorrect installation partially disables the product.
  • Maximum width 144” (366 cm), depending on fabric selection.
  • Available in slim, small, and large hardware sizes.
  • Slim version features a fully assembled cassette-style system with a 3-3/8" (86 mm) profile.
  • Steel mounting endcap includes integrated NEXD Clutch.
  • Clutch available in white (standard) or black with a single groove for precise roller alignment.
  • Bead chain clutch operator available in right-hand (standard) or left-hand configuration.
  • Height-adjustable idler endcap for precise post installation leveling.
  • Standard mounting endcaps included. Optional fascia or headbox mounting options available.
  • Type D Pocket offered as an accessory.
  • Stainless steel bead chain included. Polyester chain available in white, black, brown, grey, or ivory at no additional cost.
  • Hardware finishes: clear anodized (standard), black, white, ivory, or bronze. Custom powder coat colors available.
  • Choose from a wide range of fabric colors, textures, and opacities — or customize with graphics, patterns, or color matching.

ANSI/WCMA A100.1-2022 Child Safety Standard

Effective June 1, 2024, in compliance with the updated ANSI/WCMA A100.1-2022 child safety standard, all Draper window shades operated by a bead chain will be furnished with a tensioned hold-down device that is permanently attached and partially disables the product if not installed correctly. This hold-down should be installed with tension on the chain.

All bead chain operated window shades will include:

  • Permanently installed spring-loaded tensioned hold-down device
  • Approved permanent warning label attached
  • Approved mechanical fasteners for the tension device included. Screws provided are not suitable for all mounting surfaces. The installer is responsible for secure mounting using appropriate hardware for the site conditions. Consult with contractors and builders as needed.

If the tension device is not installed with appropriate tension on the bead chain, the shade will be rendered partially inoperable. If installed properly, the tension device will prevent the creation of a hazardous loop and will maintain tension on the bead chain.
